Business Central – how it works
Navision and C5 are now called Dynamics 365 Business Central
In 2000 Damgaard and Navision merged, both being companies that specialized in ERP systems. Navision had one product “Navision” and Damgaard had ‘AX’ and ‘C5’.
In 2003 Microsoft purchased the Damgaard-/Navision company. Microsoft has continued developing the systems, including optimizing processes, user experience and functions. ‘Navision’ became ‘Microsoft Dynamics NAV’ or just ‘NAV’, ‘C5’ became ‘Microsoft Dynamics C5’ and ‘AX’ became ‘Microsoft Finance’.
Today, Navision and C5 has become part of Dynamics 365 and are now called Dynamics 365 Business Central.
