Microsoft launches a new Dynamics 365 application aimed at all companies that works with projects

What is Project Operations?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations is a new Dynamics 365 application and is a CRM system that helps you with project management, regardless of whether your company works with small or large projects. The new application is an improved version of the existing Project Service Automation, which will be phased out by October 2020.
The new application from Microsoft brings together various functions from Project Service Automation, Microsoft Projects (including Microsoft Project for the web), and Dynamics 365 Finance in a single solution.
The combination allows companies to connect all the departments needed to deliver successful and profitable projects in one single system.

What does the launch of Project Operations mean for the existing Project Service Automation?
Microsoft has announced that the existing application Project Service Automation will be phased out, and users will eventually be transferred to the new application Project Operations.
It will still be possible to buy Project Service Automation until October 2020. After that, the solution will no longer be available for purchase and new customers will have to license Project Operations instead.
What does this mean for current users?
Microsoft will continue to support Project Service Automation on the CSP Edition until October 1, 2022, and the EA Edition until October 1, 2024, or until the current license expires, whichever comes first. It is possible to renew licenses until October 1, 2021. Thereafter, Microsoft will offer a migration to Project Operations.
