Teams Premium – meet Microsoft’s new initiative

The Teams Premium watermark can help protect content in images and video shared during Teams meetings. The watermark adds a display of the participant’s email ID on top of the shared screen and/or video feed in the Teams meeting.

In Teams Premium, sensitivity labels can be used to automatically add meeting settings that help protect information. The sensitivity labels can also be manually adjusted for even finer control over the meeting settings.

The sensitivity labels enable customization of a wide range of security settings and options when setting up the meeting.

With Teams Premium’s new “Custom Branding,” organizers can customize the lobby and meeting experience with logos and branded images for branding-enabled meetings. All participants in these meetings can see the branding, including licensed and unlicensed internal, external, and anonymous users.

In addition to branding meetings, you can also take advantage of “Together Mode,” where participants are placed in a virtual environment. Together Mode can encourage participants to turn on their camera and increase engagement during meetings.

Teams can already provide captions for your meetings generated by Microsoft’s artificial intelligence. And with Teams Premium, it is also possible to have the captions translated in real-time. If you hold a meeting where, for example, you speak Danish, other participants can receive captions in over 40 languages directly in the meeting.

It is also possible to get a transcription of the entire meeting, so you can always go back and see what was discussed.

With “Intelligent Recap” can Teams Premium deliver a summary of your meetings. Here you can, among other things, get suggestions for new tasks, such as a follow-up meeting or a new agreement, which can be added directly to the calendar from the summary.

Intelligent Recap can also divide meetings into chapters based on, among other things, topics of conversation, when your name is mentioned, or when a screen is shared. This can make it more efficient to review the content of a meeting afterwards.

You can also search the transcript based on who is speaking. So if there is, for example, an important person whose transcript you want to access, it is easy to do so.

If you host webinars and virtual live events, Teams Premium comes with a range of exciting improvements. Advanced Webinars builds on the webinar functionality in Microsoft 365, which allows for up to 1,000 participants and has direct integration with Dynamics 365 Marketing.

With Advanced Webinars, you get a waiting list function, manual approval of participants, and the ability to customize start and end times for registration.

Teams Premium also allows you to use a virtual “Green Room” where you can control the event behind the scenes. Here, the host and other presenters can have a dedicated space separate from the participants where they can talk, monitor chat and Q&A, manage participant settings, and review content before the event starts. While participants wait for the event to start, they will be greeted with a welcome screen with the ability to chat and participate in Q&A.

Teams Premium also gives you precise control over what participants see. Therefore, you do not have to worry about distracting elements, such as a participant’s video accidentally turning on or taking focus while multiple participant profile pictures are displayed on the screen. You can control participant visibility so that participants only see shared content and the participants you bring into the shared screen.
