Document Capture works for both Business Central on-premise and cloud.
With Document Capture, you can streamline and automate all steps in the daily handling of documents. This applies to everything from receiving and registering a document to approving, recording, and retrieving documents from the digital archive.

Automatic data recognition and transfer
Continia Document Capture 365 for Business Central is the leading and most comprehensive end-to-end solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365. You can scan, extract OCR data, register, record, and archive all types of documents.
Your PDF files are automatically downloaded from predefined email addresses and processed by an award-winning OCR technology, without you having to do anything. Documents on paper are scanned with a desktop or network scanner and then follow the same flow as PDF files.
Relevant fields are recognized and automatically transferred to Business Central. It handles PDF files and paper documents quickly and efficiently.
Invoices in XML format are loaded directly via Continia e-Documents Import.

Continia e-Documents Import works with Document Capture and automates communication with your customers worldwide.
You can send digital documents such as invoices, credit notes, and reminders directly from Business Central.
Invoice processing
With Document Capture, you get easy invoice processing and administration through several new functions such as:
- Automatic supplier recognition
- Extended document overviews
- Pre-registration of purchase invoices
Invoices can automatically be matched to existing purchase orders or receipts via a three-way matching. Three-way matching also allows you to approve and record if the amount is within predefined limits.

Approval workflow in Business Central
You can approve invoices directly in Business Central both on-premise and online.
This ensures that everyone in the company has access to the approval workflow. The people who must approve invoices can see the original invoice with the option of:
- Accepting
- Rejecting
- Put on hold
- Forwarding an invoice to another person for reviewing / approving
It is also possible to add comments or attach files to an invoice.
Access to documents anywhere via a digital archive
Continia Document Capture 365 has a digital archive that contains all PDF files and scanned documents.
You can access them in Business Central, for example, by opening the original PDF invoice from the recorded invoice or directly from a financial item.
A fully indexed archive
Document Capture’s digital archive is fully indexed. As a result, you can search for all documents and texts, even if the information has not been transferred to a field in Business Central.
This means that you can search for specific reference numbers, serial numbers, or any other information on purchase invoices and in other types of documents.
